Leslie Frost Public School takes part in Jump Rope for Heart initiative

For two weeks in February, Leslie Frost Public School students raised money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada’s Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser.

From February 18 to 27, various “heart pumping” activities were set up in the school’s gymnasium for students to take part in, including skipping rope, hula hooping, and hopscotch.

The initiative is an annual fundraiser event that empowers students to build healthy habits and learn the importance of giving, all while raising money for life-saving heart and brain research.

In total, the school raised $370. Visit the school’s Jump Rope for Heart webpage for more information.

TLDSB inclement weather school/facilities/education centre closure – March 31, 2025

The areas that make up Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) have been greatly affected by the ice storm that swept across parts of Ontario this past weekend.

Due to road conditions, power outages, and internet/network outages in some areas, TLDSB has made the decision to close all schools (including the Virtual Learning Centre), education centres, and child care centres in schools tomorrow, Monday, March 31.

This decision was made for the safety of students and staff, and we are communicating with families now in an effort to give time to make alternative arrangements.

Please note, schools will not be moving to online learning.

We hope students will take this opportunity to catch up on work, play a board game, or read/listen to a book.

We appreciate your understanding during another inclement weather situation.

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school.
