Moving to Remote Learning – Week of November 7, 2022

Good Morning GPS Families

As you are aware, TLDSB schools are closed to students while the CUPE job action continues through this week. Today, students will be provided with learning materials through their digial classroom (SeeSaw or Google Classroom) that they can work on independently and/or with famalial support if you should choose to. Teachers will be reaching out today to connect with families to ensure our community is ready for the resumption of full time, live, online learning starting on Tuesday.

For any K-6 students who require a device, families are asked to complete this Google Form to request a device. Before requesting a device, please be mindful that we have a limited number of devices available so only make this request if absolutely necessary. This same Google Form is to be used by Grade 7 and 8 students who left their 1:1 Chromebook here last week and those students who have their own device assigned to them as part of their IEP. The Google Form also gives families the option of requesting asynchronous paper packages if live synchronous learning online is not possible.

Device pick up times are:
Today (Monday) from 2-4pm,
Tuesday, Nov 8 from 9am – 3pm.

Devices can be picked up at the “Welcome Doors” only if requested through the Google Form.

Starting Tuesday, attendance will be taken by 9:30 every morning and we will be continuing with our safe arrival program. If students log in throughout the day, teachers will adjust their attendance records accordingly.

Finally, with no school secretary, the phones are unlikely to be answered when families call the school. Having said that, school administration will be monitoring the voicemail and will redirect or respond to calls.

We appreciate your continued understanding and flexibility as we work through these uncertain times.

Please continue to monitor https://www.tldsb.ca/labour-updates/ for updates on this evolving situation.
